Waikato’s Winning Streak: Double Celebrations and Big Prizes in the Lotto

Weekend Winners Shine in Waikato

This past weekend, two Lotto outlets in Waikato enjoyed the thrill of selling double winners. The Waikato Lotto Bin Inn in Hamilton East and Praters Four Square in Taupō both sold two second division-winning tickets, significantly boosting the excitement in the region. A player from MyLotto in Hamilton also celebrated as one of 14 second division winners, each walking away with $19,817 in winnings.

Winners Nationwide

In addition to the Waikato victories, other second division winners hailed from various locations, including Auckland, Henderson, Franklin, Kawerau, Whakatāne, Wairoa, Christchurch, and Otautau. Notably, a Christchurch MyLotto player also claimed a second division Powerball win, bringing their total winnings to an impressive $37,860.

Strike Four Triumphs in Taranaki

In another exciting win, a player from Taranaki struck it rich with a $400,000 win using the Strike Four game. Their winning ticket was purchased at New World in Stratford. The Powerball jackpot, however, went unclaimed and has rolled over to Wednesday night, with the next jackpot soaring to $8 million.

Midweek Winners Also Take Home Big Prizes

Last Wednesday’s draw proved fruitful for two Waikato Lotto players who were among 17 second division winners. Each of these lucky individuals earned $12,438 for matching five numbers plus the Bonus. The winning tickets were purchased through MyLotto and at Pak N Save in Taupō.

First Division Winners Celebrate Major Payouts

Additionally, a Waikato player who bought their ticket online from MyLotto was among four first division winners, collectively sharing a massive $1 million prize. In total, two Hamilton players also celebrated after winning $15,383 each as part of the second division winnings, with tickets purchased from Glenview Food Centre and Woolworths Te Rapa.

Recent Big Winners in Waikato

The excitement in Waikato continued last month when a player became $4.5 million richer after winning the Lotto Powerball jackpot. Remarkably, a Lotto ticket sold in Hamilton was among the significant winners in the $50 million must-be-won draw, where seven players each snagged a $7.18 million share of the Powerball jackpot. One of the fortunate tickets was sold at Shop Rite Dairy in Maeroa, Hamilton.
